Nana's Recipe Vault (“we”, “the app”) is a family recipe app where you can save, discover, and share recipes, build grocery lists, and plan meals. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (or your Google account details when you sign in with Google), plus the profile name, nickname, photo, and bio you choose to add.
- Content you create. The recipes you add or import (including ones imported from a web page, photo, or PDF), your meal plans, grocery lists, personal and community notes, forum posts and replies, and your votes on Watch & Cook videos.
- Usage information. Basic analytics about how the app is used (for example, which features are popular and whether a page was viewed) and the date of your most recent activity, which lets us show you relevant community notifications.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
- To store and show you the recipes, plans, lists, and notes you create.
- To send you service emails such as welcome emails, password resets, and community reply notifications.
- To understand how the app is used so we can improve it.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Your account details are never shown to other users. Content you post to community spaces (forum topics, replies, and community notes) is visible to other users, and recipes you share are shown with your display name. The app uses Google's sign-in service when you choose Google authentication, and displays cooking videos hosted on YouTube within the Watch & Cook feed.
Data retention & security
Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us. While no online service can guarantee perfect security, we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Your choices
- You can edit or remove your profile details, recipes, plans, lists, and posts at any time.
- You can deactivate your account (a temporary break) from your Profile page.
- You can permanently delete your account and all associated data — your recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, notes, votes, and community posts — at any time fromProfile → Account Management → Delete Account. You can also request deletion by reaching us through the Contact page.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
